Lebanon Junior Soccer Club Coach of the Year
Glen Coutu
This person has volunteered his time coaching different levels over the last ten years. Among them are, U9 girls, U10 girls, U12 girls, and U14 girls all at the competitive level. He always brings a well thought out lesson plan and puts forth great effort and energy to bringing his players a quality program which is yet challenging but fun. He has an excellent player retention quality and has contributed to the development of many players who are now playing for the Lyman Memorial High School girls soccer team. He also coached the Lyman girls in the high school summer league this past season.
In addition to coaching, he also has provided the Lebanon Junior Soccer Club with many quality decisions concerning the fields and their maintenance while serving on the LJSC Board of Directors as a liaison to the Board of Education and the Recreation Department. He has done an outstanding job and has contributed a great deal to the development of our players and the Lebanon Junior Soccer Club. With this award, he has also been nominated to the Northeast District for the Coach of the Year for the District. |

Lebanon Junior Soccer Club Referee of the Year
Victoria Allen
This person has done an outstanding job with referee work this year. She takes her job as a referee very seriously. She possesses a keen sense of keeping control of each match that she is assigned to from start to finish. She always comes prepared and is on time for each match that she is assigned to. We have had many compliments about her work this year both from inside and outside of our club. She has handled difficult situations that have arisen with great confidence and maturity for a young referee. Parents and players have been overheard to make such comments as "oh good, we have her again, she's great!, She always takes the time to teach the children the rules as they are playing". She also keeps great command of each match, and is very fair to both teams playing! She has also taken the time to participate in refereeing tournament play with the Lebanon Fun Day and the Columbia-Windham/Nassiff's Columbus Day Tournament. Being a referee has helped her further develop her understanding of the game.
She has played LJSC competitive soccer at the U10 level, U12 level, and U14 level. She played for the Lebanon Middle School and currently plays for the Lyman Memorial High School girls soccer team, and also at the premier level with the Northeast United U17 team. With this award, she has also been nominated to the Northeast District for Young Referee of the Year for the District. |

Lebanon Junior Soccer Club Volunteer of the Year
Jack Griffin
This person has volunteered his time to the Lebanon Junior Soccer Club in many ways over the last ten years. He has held many board positions during this period, such as Secretary, Treasurer, Kindergarten Director, and most recently Tournament Director. He has also volunteered his time to coach at different levels of play over the last ten years. He has a very generous and kind heart and will always be one of the first people to step up to help with any task, whether it be setting up fields, breaking them down at the end of the season, coaching a team for indoor play at Oakwood, helping in the concessions booth, or other administrative duties for the club. He has also been a USSF certified referee for the last 5 or 6 years and even though he must be over 60, he still gets up and down the field pretty good for his age. He has always been available to fill in for someone if need be on short notice to referee a match.
For the last couple of years, he has donated his time to the club even though his kids are no longer involved with playing soccer for LJSC. A couple of years ago, he graciously accepted the position of Tournament Director, probably not knowing what he got himself into. Over this time, he has learned how to run this tournament and has done an outstanding job keeping the Lebanon Fun Day Tournament going. We at LJSC are extremely lucky to have a person of this caliber. With this award, he has also been nominated to the Northeast District for the Volunteer of the Year for the District. |
